Watercolor: Celebration of Color
with Roberta Rogers, Coconino Community College - Flagstaff

In Celebration of Color students will be encouraged to experiment with various color choices for landscapes. Various color wheel Triad color examples will be demonstrated.
This is a two-day workshop, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 9.
Roberta Rogers is a third generation watercolorist. She received her Masters in Art from Fresno State and has been painting full-time for the past 50 years...and she's still learning! She lived in Flagstaff for 35 years where, in addition to teaching at CCC, she was part of The Artists Gallery. Now living in Tubac “Where Art and History Meet” her watercolors are exhibited at Tubac Art and Gifts. She will be at Flagstaff's July 4th Art in the Park event, and again for Labor Day Festivities.
AHA Heartsaver Total First Aid, CPR & AED (Blended) - Page, AZ

- This class is intended for anyone requiring total First Aid, CPR, and AED training for infant, child, and adult.
- This is an OSHA approved workplace required training.
- For blended courses, students are expected to complete an online course, and after completion, do a skills test in person.
- After you register, an online key access code will be sent to your email address from AHA to complete the online course. You must complete all 32 modules!
- At the end of the online course, you will receive a completion certificate that you will bring with you to the scheduled skills testing.
- The skills testing is scheduled by the instructor via email and will take place at the CCC Page Center.

All AHA courses have a 2 year certification. Students will receive an e-card upon successful completion of course.

- This class is intended for medical providers and those applying for programs in the medical field (i.e. EMT, CNA, MA, Physicians, RN, Dentists, etc.)
- Note: course will fulfill the enrollment pre-requisite for EMS 131, Emergency Medical Technician and NUR 110, Nursing Assistant I
- This is a medical course for CPR & AED for infant, child, & adult only. No First Aid.
- For blended courses, students are expected to complete an online course and after completion, do a skills test in person.

Crochet
with Shelly Christiano, Coconino Community College - Flagstaff

Have you ever wanted to create something beautiful with just a hook and some yarn? Join our Crochet class and discover the joy of crafting handmade items! This class is perfect for those who have never picked up a crochet hook or who need a refresher on the basics and are looking to rekindle an old hobby. Intermediate levels are also welcome to register to come work on a project, get some guidance, and enjoy the company of others.
In this course, you will:
- Learn essential crochet techniques, including how to hold the hook and yarn, create basic stitches, and read simple patterns.
- Complete a fun and practical project: choose between a plant cozy or a mug rug - perfect for adding a handmade touch to your home.
- Get tips on choosing the right materials and tools for your projects.
By the end of this class, you'll have the confidence to start your own crochet projects and a new hobby that you can enjoy for years to come. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn and have fun!

Meet Shelly Christiano, our talented crochet instructor! With years of crocheting experience, Shelly has transformed her passion for yarn and creativity into an impressive skill set. She specializes in creating various beautiful and practical items, from children's animal hats and crochet flowers to stylish market bags.
Her love for crochet began as a hobby but quickly grew into a thriving business during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. She successfully sells her handmade creations at craft shows and through her online store, delighting customers with her unique and high-quality products. Shelly enjoys sharing her knowledge and helping beginners discover the joy of crafting handmade items. She believes that crochet is not only a creative outlet but also a wonderful way to relax and unwind.
The class meets on five Thursdays: July 10, 17, 24, 31, and Aug. 7; 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. On the first day we encourage you to arrive an hour early (12:30) to help beginners get started. On the last day we will have a field trip to a local store to discuss selecting materials for your future projects!
Comet Walk - Wildfire Risk Reduction
with Mark Adams, Coconino Community College - Flagstaff

This Comet Walk will focus on fire adapted ponderosa pine forests and how we need to better adapt to the fire-prone forest rather than the forest adapting to us. We'll discuss forest management, including treatment strategies to reduce hazardous fuels, as well as fire-wise home hardening techniques you can do around your property.
Mark Adams will be leading this Comet Walk. He worked as a Hotshot for 24 years on the Coconino National Forest, working on three crews: Blue Ridge, Mormon Lake and Flagstaff Hotshots. He also served as the Superintendent of the Flagstaff Hotshots and the Blue Ridge Hotshots. He now works for the City of Flagstaff in the Flagstaff Fire Department as a Wildland Community Risk Reduction Specialist.
Information and directions for the meeting location will be provided once registration is complete.
